mushishi 蟲師 [movie]

my tired worn out dvd has just about given up on me



this is one of my absolute favourite asian fantasy films
its so beautiful and magical i have watched it over and over again.
so much so, my dvd now will not play on first try and wont skip or pause.
dont know what thats about but unfortunately it has meant my screen shots
are p*ss poor compared to all the beautiful imagery in this movie.

the colours and sounds pull you into to the magical world;
the stunning scenery and wonderful accompanying score
make this film an absolute pleasure to watch.

i cant be bothered to go into any detail really, theres no need.

you follow a man who is a mushishi (bugmaster) on his travels through the
country healing people and encountering many species of magical bugs.
the film basically tells the story of how he came to be
as he re-learns it for himself.

it really is just so pretty and magical. there is no sense in talking about it
just go and watch it.








ive had this film for years. i cant remember exactly when i first saw it
but i think this is the dvd i have lent out the most times. everyone loves this film.

i think esumi and odagiri are just wonderful. this was the first thing i saw
either of them in and just adored them right away.




this is one of which i could happily collect the manga, anime, and whatever
other movie adaptations they want to do if i had the space to keep it
and money to buy it. just so beautiful.



my pictures here make it look kind of mirky and gloomy but its really not.
much of it is shiny sparkly misty magical type stuff. i need better screen shots.

i should replace my dvd.
