its a funny Show (ha ha, thought that one up all by myself)
it is a little bit of a strange review i guess for this one as i have not actually watched all of it. i have, however, watched hours and hours of bits of it. i cant find anyway to watch all the full past episodes or the new ones either. if i find a way i will post it up here in an update. not knowing any taiwanese or mandarin yet i need english subs so that is what i am looking for if anyone knows where i can watch this show.
100% entertainment has been running for many years now. it is a taiwanese news/variety/comedy show and by 2006 Show Luo and Alien Huang had become full time hosts, with the adorable Sister Butterfly as a locum. Now she is also a full time host.
Ive been watching bits here and there when i found them for half a year but two days ago i ransacked the internet for all clips i could find and spent the whole night laughing so hard my face hurt. seen as it is my birthday today i spent the whole morning laid in bed watching more clips and just adoring these f*cking muppets even more. sorry for the poor screen shots, as i dont have this series on my computer i had to use the cropped shots i already had.
being childhood friends Xiao Zhu (Show) and Xiao Gui (Alien) have such great banter and stupidity and it is like watching mates just hanging out with each other. they constantly laugh at each other (mainly Show collapsed on the floor unable to breathe, or Gui in fits while Show is ranting about some stupid sh*t)
the uncontrollable laughter from them (including Butterfly) is so much fun to watch - they dont even try not to crack up, they spend most of the show openly laughing for minutes at a time. there is nothing else that cheers me up quite like this stupid program. The guests are other idols from taiwan china korea etc and i have seen some great moments from Nicky Lee (so im not handsome) who i think Show is totally crushing on, Serena Fang, JJ Lin (so im not handsome), Hangeng (suju), Jolin Tsai, Lee MinHo (city hunter) SHINee, SUJU, Raine Yang, the list could go on and on but you get the idea.
They speak english everynow and again very badly, sometimes Show slips into a random bit of japanese (seriously one for going week at the knees - his accent is so beautiful) and the mock cantonese, american, and other such accents are always good for dropping into a skit or stupid story about something that didnt really matter but Show thought it appropriate to bring up for no reason at all. no matter what language though, you can be sure that what theyre saying is utter hillarious crap. and they very dorkingly will make themselves die of laughter over and over again.
they spend a great deal of time crawling all over each other, and im sure the segment that always ends up in them kissing each other was orchestrated by Show - you just know he takes any opportunity he can get. he is such an arrogant arse, always ready to be the butt of a joke too, frequently just running off set to be an idiot, and often gets to show off his dancing, drumming, and posing skills as you would expect.
Show has one of the most stupid but infectious laughs on the planet, but also Gui has me in fits with his too. they never stop laughing and barely come up for air. in between that and their boy love there is barely any room for sensible behaviour.
but nevermind, that is exactly why we are watching!
i do wish Show and Butterfly would get it together and make adorable babies, but sadly i dont think it will actually ever happen. they are so damn cute togther. i think he must have totally fallen for her when they did the friends singing episode where not only did they sing together a few times but she sung a difficult taiwanese song on her own - you could see him staring at her adoringly from just offstage with the most brilliant expression. to be fair, i think we all fell in love with her that episode. she is amazingly cute.
the funniest of the romance issues though i guess comes from Gui and Rainie - whenever she is on the show they joke so much about Gui still having feelings for her and he just has me in fits when he acts like he is jealous - it is childish humour but so funny. I also love it when Jolin Tsai is on, apart from the fact that i think she is just plain great, the bickering between her and Show always makes me laugh.
i could have put pictures of the guests and other things i guess, but really these two idiots just make this tv show for me. they have both been in a ton of dramas which i am slowly tracking down one by one, i have about three of Show's so far and am going to start working on collecting Gui's. im pretty sure burried somewhere i have corner with love or whatever it is called - which they have both been in, and im probably going to start with hi my sweetheart which is Show and Rainie Yang, as i have had that show for ages on my hard drive and not gotten around to it yet. seen as i have only reviewed one taiwanese drama so far this may be time to get going on some more! (^_^)
