ai no kotodama 愛の言霊 [movie]

a film to make you feel all fluffy and squiggly. and jealous. very jealous.

tachibana (saito yasuka) and ootani (tokuyama hidenori
share an apartment but no one knows they also share a bed.
it is a bit of a strain keeping their relationship from everyone
especially as their friends joke about how close the pair of them are.

throw in an old female flame from school to add more paranoia to the brew
and you have a situation where external influences could potentially ruin
a perfectly comfortable relationship.

now, there are generally two types of boy love films,
one that ends with kissing in
white fuaa fuaa clouds of cute gay love
or one that ends with most of the cast dead & the rest screaming and crying.

i prefer films that dont make me want to give up and kill myself at the mere memory of it,
and i certainly adored this film for giving me squealy laughs and smiles
instead of tears and tantrums.
these guys are too cute together for me to not squeak at the screen for them being so adorable.

aahhh its just too cute. what else can i say. it made me happy to watch this,
i only saw it last night and i want to watch it again.
i liked both the main characters and their sulky fights,
no great disasterous crazy backstabbing or mental melodrama - just realistic ups and downs.

towards the end of the film both characters get pretty funny,
i like all the stuff about how to spell jealousy in kanji - their banter is really natural.
i dont think either of the guys is really the jealous one i think that one would be me.
i want an adorable asian boy love relationship like that damn it - though somehow
i dont think its gonna work out - with me not being asian or a boy.

damn it
